Ritz Crackers Crackers Review
Stail taste in two boxes
I purchased a box of Ritz, which I do once a week. Once opened I could only eat 10 crackers due to the bad taste.
I at first thought it was the pepperoni I was eating with the cracker, but after a single cracker it gave me a sour taste. I then tried putting on peanut butter with hopes of eating it that way, but the same taste occurred. Along with the sour taste it also had an overpowering after taste that lasted until I brushed my teeth. I took them back to Wal-mart where I had purchased them, and they let me exchange them for another box.
The best used by date was 17FEB15AE32A06:13. The new box was dated the same except for the time, it was 06:12. I opened the new box and sampled a cracker. Making a quick decision, I said it was OK and left the store (my bad) when I got home and began eating the crackers they were the same as the others.
I along with my parents have been buying Ritz crackers my whole life and not come upon this problem. We are talking over 60 years here, and the first time I had to complain about the taste, although I have noticed in the ladder years that they have been becoming less flavorful that's why I use the peanut butter or pepperoni to add flavor.
I think it's time I change my brand to Keebler Townhouse crackers which has a nice buttery flavor like it always had when I ate them when I was young.

Had them for Christmas Eve the taste was really bad ....other people noticed the nasty taste ....we won't be buying Ritz again!
I have been having the same issues-- the Ritz crackers are now very thin and very hard, sometimes really really really salty or little to no salt. They are no longer buttery/flakey/melt-in-your-mouth.
I recently found that one of their smaller packages was labeled "Original" while the others weren't, so I bought it. They were very close to what the normal Ritz crackers were. When that package was gone, I bought another, but the new package was just like the other crackers (not labeled "original")-- thin/hard/tastes-like-cardboard.
So, I gave up and paid the extra money for Keebler's Club crackers.
I was pretty shocked that those tasted exactly like the Ritz cracker. The were lacking the buttery/flakey aspects and were also the thin and stale/hardness that the ritz has AND they have that cardboard taste as well.
What is happening to our crackers?
